Adeel Afzal studied Chemistry at the University of Vienna (Austria) and earned a Ph.D. in 2007. He developed synthetic antibodies as biomimetic coatings for chemical sensors using bulk and surface molecular imprinting techniques. Later, he worked as a Collaborator (Postdoctoral Researcher) at the University of Bari (Italy) and developed nanomaterials for high-temperature electronic gas sensors and catalytic applications. In 2012, he joined King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals affiliated colleges in Hafr Al Batin (Saudi Arabia) which is now known as the University of Hafr Al Batin. He is currently an Associate Professor of Chemistry at the College of Science, University of Hafr Al Batin (Saudi Arabia). His research interests include the development of imprinted and functional nanomaterials and composites for chemical and biosensors, biomedical diagnostics, and other applications.
